Non Destructive Optical Measurement Manuscript

HMNL undergraduate Noah McAllister worked on a method to measure scattering polymer films non-destructively using a combination of MATLAB and Image-J to implement an image-processing algorithm known as the Canny edge-detector to identify the the film boundary. The results from this method were verified by comparing results from samples measured through optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, and can be used in conjunction with dense film measurements to find porosity.
